Nonprofit Corporation KOTOBUKI will co-organise an international workshop titled
"Dialogue Workshop for Active Ageing: Better Care Starts with Better Conversations in Your Workplace."
This workshop brings together research and practice to explore how structured dialogue can enhance the quality of care in workplaces and communities. As ageing societies continue to expand globally, improving communication within care settings is increasingly recognized as a critical factor in delivering better outcomes.
The session is co-organised with Dr. Kelvin Tan, Head of the Minor in Applied Ageing Studies and Associate Professor at the Gerontology Programmes, S R Nathan School of Human Development, Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS).
The workshop introduces an approach developed through extensive research on care practices in Japan. By analyzing over 1,300 care practices, common patterns found in innovative and thriving care environments have been identified and translated into practical tools.
Participants will engage with the KOTOBUKI Card Deck, a dialogue-based facilitation tool designed to support reflection, shared understanding, and improved communication among care professionals. This approach has already been implemented in over 200 care facilities and has reached more than 4,000 practitioners in Japan and internationally.
Through this interactive session, participants will explore how better conversations can lead to more effective collaboration, stronger teams, and ultimately, higher quality care.
